Palazzo Vescovile

Ph: www.arezzo.netPalazzo Vescovile is connected to the nearby Cathedral by a 15th century covered portico, which closes off piazza del Duomo to the north.

The drastic rebuilding undergone in the second half of the 18th century left few traces of the original, which had suffered devastation and fires during the 14th century.

In the interior, frescoes by Salvi Castellucci, Teofilo Torri and Pietro Benvenuti can still be seen. "The Monument to the Grand Duke Ferdinand I de' Medici" (by Pietro Francavilla 1595, designed by Giambologna), is situated in front of the palace, on the corner of the cathedral stairway.
