Palazzo Vescovile - Volterra

Piazza dei Priori

The palace became the bishop's residence after 1472 because of the destruction of the Palazzo dei Vescovi by Florentines in 1472. It was originaly built as a grain store.

The great arches of the building are attributed to Antonio da Sangallo the Elder.
