Roman Villa in Massaciuccoli

The remains of the Roman Villa of Massaciuccoli are located on the side of Mount Aquilata, in a panoramic position which overtops the lake of Massaciuccoli, in the commune of Massarosa - Lucca.

The Villa dates back to the Ist century A.D. and its Thermal Baths are still visible and almost intact.
The archaeological site of the Villa is situated in a lower position, along via Pietra Padule and it shows the remains of some rooms which can be dated back to a later period than the Roman road that coasted the lake.
On the complex of Via Pietra Padule the "Guglielmo Lera" Pavillion was built in 2007, in order to display the Roman remains to visitors.
