Description Photogallery HistoryAttractionsMap

paesaggio montepertoli - fiPerfectly set against the typical landscape of the Florentine Chianti, Montespertoli is easy to reach from all the main Tuscan roads. Montespertoli is at 257 m. a.s.l., only 25 km away from Florence and at an equal distance from Siena, Pisa, Volterra and San Gimignano.

On its beautiful territory, among gently sloping hills and majestic crests, where vineyards, olive groves and woods alternate, are small suggestive villages and ancient castles. These can be explored and studied along itineraries that show the visitor the treasures of this land, with many different types of accommodation on offer, each visit offering something different for you to enjoy, from the oenogastronomical experience of the Strada del Vino (Wine Road) to the excursions on horseback and the many sports and cultural activities available.

The lands of the Borough of Montespertoli have always played a crucial role, since the ancient Etruscan age, thanks to their road network that helped Florence trade with Volterra and Siena along the Via Volterrana, which crossed the borough of Montespertoli from north to south and joined the Via Francigena near Certaldo.
The most representative buildings of the area were built during the medieval age, such as churches, castles, and little villages located on top of hills and connected to each other by a wide network of roads.

Starting off in Montespertoli, visitors can follow several different trails that run along ancient routes and lead to major settlements, as well as to the most remarkable local monuments, churches, and museums, where striking works of art are preserved.
